GTECH, with its gaming product brand, SPIELO, is launching two new casino management system products at booth N5-16 at the ICE Totally Gaming show in London from February 4 - 6, 2014. The company is bringing gaming to life as it showcases JP2go and Rub4Riches, alongside its comprehensive portfolio of GALAXIS casino systems modules and its SYSTEM2go packaged slot solution.
GTECH is introducing JP2go as the first fully-installed, turnkey jackpot solution in a standalone package. Independent of other systems, deployment is quick and easy. JP2go offers targeted, revenue-building mystery, progressive and wide area jackpots to create excitement on the floor and increase machine play for an all-inclusive, per-machine price. A high-tech multimedia signage solution is included in the package to promote jackpots and share the excitement of big wins. During ICE, operators will have the chance to win a free product license by entering a prize draw.
Rub4Riches, the newest product in the GALAXIS BONUSING module, brings the thrill of scratch cards to slot machines and provides operators with a novel, interactive bonusing tool that instantly rewards players at the point of play. Once a player reaches a play threshold or meets other criteria predetermined by the casino, Rub4Riches displays a customized scratch card on the CRYSTAL.net touch-screen player interface. Players use the interface to rub areas on the screen for a chance to win promotional credits in real time, directly at the slot machine. Rub4Riches helps casinos promote loyalty, encourage longer play and differentiate the casino from other gaming venues.
gameViz advanced gaming analytics will also be demonstrated at ICE. Integrated into the GALAXIS ANALYTICS portfolio and supplied in partnership with BIS2, gameViz provides a new way to visualize advanced business intelligence using advanced "Super Graphics." It helps operators to understand slot machine performance and customer preferences to identify practical ways to improve revenue and profit.
The full range of the powerful and comprehensive GALAXIS Casino System will be on show at ICE. The system comprises nine modules and covering every aspect of casinos systems management, and live demonstrations on both slots and tables will be available to visitors. GALAXIS is installed worldwide, offering operators the most complete package of progressive and mystery jackpots, player club and bonusing tools, as well as the choice of ticket and card-based cashless options. Experience the interactive capabilities of GTECH’s in-machine CRYSTAL.net display firsthand.
GTECH’s SYSTEM2go essential slot management system combines on-line accounting and remote monitoring with a complete jackpot system in a single package. Advanced features, including Ticket-In, Ticket-Out, Magnetic Card cashless, and Player Tracking are also available as add-ons in an all-inclusive package. Because the solution is web-based, management can remotely access real-time information from a single property, even a single machine, or an entire multi-site estate. Simple to install and operate, SYSTEM2go is a cost-effective, versatile system for all types of slot venues.
These are a sample GTECH’s full complement of cabinets, games, systems, and software, including products for both land-based and interactive operations. Visit Booth N5-16 at ICE 2014 to see more, and find out more about how GTECH is bringing gaming to life.

The 45th running of the World Series of Poker – the longest-running, richest and most prestigious tournament series – begins on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas – marking the 10th consecutive year the event has been held in the Rio Convention Center.

The action-packed schedule includes gold bracelet events, satellites, cash games and thrice daily deep stack tournaments running for 49 consecutive days, concluding with the final nine players of the WSOP Main Event on Monday, July 14, 2014.

The summer festival reaches its pinnacle with the globe’s longest-running poker tournament -- the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em WSOP Main Event championship -- which is slated to run over ten consecutive days from July 5 - July 14, 2014.

The WSOP Main Event will feature three starting flights – Saturday, July 5; Sunday, July 6; and Monday, July 7.

“In our 45th year, and tenth at the Rio, we are hard at work to make the 2014 World Series of Poker the biggest and best yet,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “We will build it, we hope you will come.”

WSOP.com’s real-money online poker offerings in New Jersey and Nevada will be the exclusive online home for players in these states to win seats into WSOP events, including the Main Event. While in New Jersey or Nevada, eligible players can play on WSOP.com, whether a resident or not, and satellites are expected to run regularly throughout the WSOP.

Buy-ins for tournaments at the Rio start as low as $75. Cash games will begin on May 27 and run 24 hours a day throughout the seven-week series taking place in the Rio Convention Center.

Some key tournaments already penciled in on the schedule include:

Saturday, May 31 – The opening Saturday event features the $1500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em “Millionaire Maker” where the winner walks away with potentially 666 times their investment – a guaranteed $1,000,000. (This event featured 6,343 entries in 2013 and the winner earned $1,198,780). The prize pool for this event last year exceeded $8.5 million.

Sunday, June 29 – The return of the Big One for ONE DROP, the $1,000,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em charity event to benefit ONE DROP where the winner can conceivably walk away with the largest prize ever awarded in poker – in excess of $20,000,000 – with the field capped at 56 players.

Thursday, July 3 & Friday, July 4 – The return of the Little One for ONE DROP, the $1,111 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event to benefit the ONE DROP charity. The two-day start, unlimited re-entry (through first four levels) event featured 4,756 players in its debut and a huge nearly $4.3 million prize pool up for grabs. The winner walked away with $663,727. The Little One for ONE DROP will also be the last No-Limit Hold’em event offered prior to the WSOP Main Event.

Nearly 500 poker tables will be set up across more than 100,000 square-feet of ballroom space to accommodate the thousands of players from around the world who attend poker’s annual Woodstock.

The 2013 WSOP attracted 79,471 participants – the largest attendance in the WSOP’s 44-year history – in a total of 62 events, generating a prize pool of more than $197 million. Participants in WSOP events hailed from 107 countries in 2013. The WSOP Main Event, won by Michigan’s Ryan Riess this year, attracted 6,352 players and awarded Riess $8,361,570.

The current slate of individual events offered during the 45th Annual WSOP are being finalized, with 60+ official gold bracelet events expected, with weekends catering to the No-Limit Hold’em weekend warriors and a broad range of other variations of poker at both entry level and championship level buy-ins being mixed in throughout the series. Specific events for Seniors, Ladies and Casino Employees are all being planned as well.

The full event-by-event schedule is expected to be released sometime in January.

The European Poker Tour (EPT) today announced that it will stage Europe’s largest-ever poker festival in Barcelona this August to celebrate its 100th event.

Poker players and fans will not want to miss this historic celebration which will likely set European prize and attendance records from August 16 – 27, 2014 at the Casino Barcelona.

“The EPT was born in Barcelona so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly. “EPT Barcelona is one of the most popular tour stops and attracts players from all over the world for the fantastic mix of beaches, iconic architecture, party atmosphere and world class poker,” he continued.

Since the first event took place back in September 2004, the EPT has welcomed over 180,000 players, visited 16 countries, created 39 millionaires and paid out over €535 in prizes, making it the world’s richest and most popular poker tour.

The Barcelona festivities will kick off Season 11 of the EPT, once again partnering up with the successful Spanish regional Estrellas Poker Tour from August 16 - 21 to create a spectacular 12-day Barcelona poker extravaganza.

Last year’s EPT Barcelona event broke all previous records when the Estrellas and EPT Main Events clocked 1,798 and 1,234 entries, sending Soenke Jahn and Tom Middleton back home with career-besting prizes of €169,136 and €942,000 respectively. This year, the EPT is adding 20 extra tables to accommodate player fields that are likely to beat last year’s records.

THIS year's ARIA Awards will take place at Sydney's The Star casino on Sunday December 1.
Channel 9's digital station Go will broadcast the event.
Ironically the venue instantly became the subject of discussion among the music community after rock star Joel Madden was busted when a maid found marijuana in his room in June.
No host or musical performers have been announced for the event yet, and nominations will be announced on November 15.
Eligible for Album of the Year are releases by Flume, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tame Impala, Birds of Tokyo, Bliss N Eso, Bernard Fanning, Boy & Bear, Russell Morris, Harrison Craig, Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey, Empire of the Sun, Cloud Control, Guy Sebastian, Paul Kelly, Sarah Blasko, the Presets, the Cat Empire, the Rubens, Josh Pyke, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson and Jagwar Ma.

The timing means several international acts will be in the country and available to act as presenters or performers.
Teen star Justin Bieber will be in Sydney and would be a good choice to try and lure younger viewers to watch the broadcast.
British rockers Muse and rock icons Fleetwood Mac will also be in Australia, however Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi's touring schedule will mean they miss being in Sydney by several days.
Voting for the ARIAs started this week among music industry types, while the public can vote on four awards - Song of the Year, Best International Artist, Best Australian Live Act and Best Video - from October 15 onwards.
ARIA said that over 100,000 public votes were cast in these categories last year.
Ten Australian acts have had No. 1 albums this year - Flume, Nick Cave, Hillsong United, Birds of Tokyo, Bernard Fanning, Harrison Craig, Bliss N Eso, Karnivool, Rufus and Boy & Bear - a feat not achieved since 2004.
The Voice winner Harrison Craig, Guy Sebastian and Sydney electronic producer Flume have the highest-selling albums of the past 12 months, while Riptide by Melbourne newcomer Vance Joy, Resolution by Matt Corby, What You've Done to Me by X Factor winner Samantha Jade and Get Along by Guy Sebastian are among the highest-selling singles since last year's ARIA Awards.
Retail store David Jones will sponsor a red carpet event at this year's event.
The ARIA Hall of Fame will be announced at the event - with soft rock kings Air Supply on tour in Sydney at the time of the awards many are hoping they will finally be given an overdue induction.
Air Supply sold over 100 million albums and scored eight US Top 10 hits including Lost in Love, All Out of Love, The One That You Love, Making Love Out of Nothing At All and Here I Am.
