American Gaming Association Applauds Senate Passage of Terrorism Risk Insurance Program

Washington, DC – American Gaming Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman released the following statement after the Senate today passed reauthorization of the bipartisan Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA):

“We applaud the Senate for its strong bipartisan vote today to reauthorize TRIA, a public-private partnership that has been successful for more than a decade. The program ensures that casino gaming resorts, which attract tens of millions of annual visitors and support one million American jobs, can protect their businesses, employees, and customers in the event of terrorist attack. We urge the House to act quickly to reauthorize TRIA in order to provide certainty to gaming resorts and other businesses across the country.”

The AGA has supported TRIA legislation as part of the Coalition to Insure Against Terrorism (CIAT).
