Mobile social casino studio Gamzio Mobile has finalised its partnership with real-money platform provider Cashbet and is set to launch its first iGaming product in Apple’s UK App Store.

Gamzio first revealed that it had agreed a partnership with Cashbet in January as it looked to enter the real-money gaming space to complement its existing social casino business. The company currently has one free-to-play app live, the mobile social slot game Slots-O-Luck.

The company’s chief executive Jason Deiboldt said his top priorities in ensuring a successful real-money launch were to provide players with exclusive game content, strong customer service and player support, and fast and reliable banking transactions.

“Cashbet's innovative player management technology and 24-hour player support team will help to ensure all of Gamzio's players enjoy an unmatched mobile casino experience inside Gamzio's real-money games,” Deiboldt explained.

Deiboldt also revealed that Gamzio had hired two individuals with a combined 30 years of real-money gaming experience to support the launch, although it did not reveal their identities.

The Cashbet solution is one of the latest real-money gaming platforms to launch, competing with the likes of Betable, real-money social games network ISIS Friends and HTML5 platform provider Odobo. Each solution is designed to allow small, independent developers to establish themselves in the iGaming sector without heavy compliance and support costs.

The company holds Category 1 and Category 2 eGambling licences from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, and was founded by Scientific Games veterans Dr Mike Reaves, who acts as the company’s chief executive, and chief technology officer George Weinberg.

Reaves has claimed that Cashbet is currently in negotiations with a number of potential partners, but is yet to announce any other deals.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — Nevada’s gaming regulators have notified license holders they cannot be involved in the state’s marijuana business.

In a notice to licensees posted Tuesday on its website, the board stated that because it’s a federal crime to grow, possess or sell marijuana, the state must not allow casino operators to run or hold a financial interest in a medical marijuana business.

The industry advisory states, that unless federal law changes, “the board does not believe investment or any other involvement in a medical marijuana facility or establishment by a person who has received a gaming approval or has applied for a gaming approval is consistent with the effective regulation of gaming.”

Gaming Control Board member Terry Johnson sent a memo Tuesday reminding licensees that while the state has legalized dispensaries, federal law still prohibits manufacturing and distributing marijuana.

Johnson says that unless federal law changes, it could discredit the state's gambling industry if a casino licensee gets involved in the medical marijuana business.

It was unclear whether the board would discipline licensees who get involved in both industries. Officials with the Gaming Control Board were not immediately available for comment Tuesday morning.

M Resort CEO Anthony Marnell has invested in a company that is seeking a Clark County medical marijuana license. An M spokeswoman couldn't immediately comment on the notice.

Kathmandu: All casinos in Nepal have been shut down since Monday after their managements failed to heed the government's repeated warnings over their outstanding tax and royalty dues, the ministry of culture said Tuesday.

A total of 10 casinos operating in Nepal owe $11.26 million to the government and the pending dues date back to fiscal year 2005-06, Xinhua reported Tuesday.

The Nepal Casino Rules, 2013, require that each casino pays $42,105 to the government every year as a royalty.

With the closure of casinos, the Himalayan country's gaming business that began around 47 years ago, has suffered a major jolt, and uncertainty looms over their revival.

The closure has also deprived some 10,000 individuals of their jobs as a single casino usually employed at least 100 youths.

The ministry of culture, tourism and civil aviation that regulates the casino business in Nepal last week asked the home ministry to declare these joints illegal and close them down.

The move followed the casino operators' reluctance to clear their outstanding tax and royalty dues though the government extended the deadline four times.

"Even though we had previously given nine months' time to clear their dues, the casino operators did not listen to the government, which forced us to close them down," Xinhua cited Madhusudan Burlakoti, joint secretary at culture ministry, as saying.

The culture ministry officials said the casinos' licences would be renewed if they cleared the dues.

According to the analysts, the shutdown of the casinos may keep foreign tourists from the Himalayan country.

Women Take to Texas Hold’em at mFortune Mobile Casino

mFortune has revealed that more women are playing Texas Hold’em Poker at its website and on its mobile app than ever before.

The casino operator, based in the UK, has announced that there has been a rise in the number of female players over the last year, with women making up almost a quarter of all poker players on the site.
The online and mobile casino believes the relative anonymity of playing online has helped encourage female players to take up the game.
In addition, online sites that host poker games tend to have a less testosterone driven atmosphere in comparison to land based casinos.

Prominent poker players who are women, including Victoria Coren – recent winner of the European Poker tour - and Liv Boeree, are also thought to have inspired female players to have a go online.
There are other contributing factors, including the home of poker moving from Las Vegas to the online community.

Additionally, with inequality between the sexes widespread across the UK, it has been suggested that poker online offers women a chance to compete on level playing field with men.
mFortune mobile casino provides a range of games for use on mobile devices, including poker, roulette, bingo, slots and blackjack. All games are compatible with Android and iOS, and are exclusive to mFortune.

Texas Hold’em Poker at mFortune welcomes new players with a £5 free bonus, subject to terms and conditions.

mFortune is licensed by the Gambling Commission and has been based in the UK since their inception.

Sri Lanka officials have announced they have turned down building requests from the Packer casino group at three of their luxury resorts. The opposition party of the proposals warned locals that allowing such establishments would attract unwanted and illegal industries such as prostitution.

The proposal for the construction of three Packer casino’s have obtained over $1.3 billion (£772m) through investments from the likes of gambling mogul James Packer. James runs a highly successful chain of casinos within Melbourne, Perth, Macau and London.

Developers wanted the casinos to be integrated within three luxury resorts in Colombo however government officials rejected the plans.

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapakse said to reports at Colombo that casinos are strictly forbidden and the laws surrounding such gambling establishments are not open to negotiation, not now or in future. Additional opposition to the plans also saw locals raise the issue of increased prostitution, which can be linked to gambling establishments around the world.

Athuraliya Rathane, a Buddhist monk and legislator, said his party would strongly oppose the new hotels on account of worries that it would spur prostitution, which could inevitably harm Buddhist culture. When speaking to reporters in Colombo the monk said that his party voted against the concessions as a warning to the government to correct its course.

There has been no immediate response made by the casino developers in relation to the ban or any issues raised.

A casino, which was blocked by the government ban, was to be incorporated within a 450-room Crown Sri Lanka resort, the establishment would promise players a “world-class gaming” facility. The public were made aware of the plans through Crown’s statement of being in detailed discussions with the government and that the deal may incorporate additional partners, subject to “relevant approvals”.
Sri Lanka officials have given the go-ahead for the leisure resorts to be constructed without the casinos. A perk offered to the developers to attract local investment included a 10-year tax break, which has caused a vast amount of opposition.

Pro-gambling Sri Lankan officials have proposed that high-end gambling establishments could boost the overall tourist arrivals to 2.5 million annually by 2016. This comes at a time when, up until 2009, the country had declining tourist levels on account of decades long fighting with separatist Tamil Tiger rebels. The fighting ceased in 2009 and local tourist levels have been growing gradually ever since.

Maryland's four casinos raked in nearly $71.5 million in revenue in April, mostly on the strong performance of Maryland Live Casino at Arundel Mills, according to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.

The Anne Arundel casino, among the largest on the East Coast, pulled in nearly $56.5 million, a more than 21 percent increase over its April 2013 revenue.

Revenue fell nearly 9 percent at Hollywood Casino Perryville and the Casino at Ocean Downs. The Hollywood Casino drew in $7.7 million, a decrease of about 8.8 percent, while Ocean Downs brought in about $3.6 million, a decrease of about 8.6 percent.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort, the state's fourth casino, which opened in May last year, brought in about $3.6 million as well.

While Maryland Live had a relatively strong performance and kept the state's April haul above that seen in most previous months, revenues still fell short of the record-breaking $77.9 million raised in the state in March.

The difference of about $6.4 million between March and April revenues mostly came at Maryland Live, as well. In March, the casino brought in $61.8 million, about $5.3 million more than in April. The casinos' March performance was attributed in part to weather-related pent-up demand.

Excluding Rocky Gap, and despite the decline in revenues at Hollywood and Ocean Downs, the state's collective year-over-year April revenue was up about 15 percent.
