Pelicans moved to within a point of third place Bourne Deeping after making it 21 goals in two games away at Colchester on Saturday.

They settled quickly and straight away showed that their 13-0 victory over Chelmsford last week wasn’t a fluke as they raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Simons and Lankfer who carried on their excellent form in front of goal.

After having a third goal ruled out by the umpires Colchester finally found their feet in the game and pulled one back from a short corner. The hosts had their best spell of the half after this as they look to avoid relegation; however they found Allsop, Henry, Major and then Kerry in determined mood at the back.

Bower was in goal because of Aldous’s absence and he also looked in solid form.

Despite the danger on the break Pelicans were able to break with ease. Picton, Frost, Sheerin, Walpole and Johnstone all linked well with each other and were able to pick out passes for their front line.

Johnstone made it 3-1 with a superb finish after being set up by Simons and then with the final play of the half Pelicans won a short corner which was dispatched by Simons.

The home side scored first in the second half to give them hope but Pelicans made sure of no come-back as first Lankfer and then Simons completed their hat-tricks, the best of which arrived from Lankfer with a full length dive to beat the goalkeeper to the ball. Simons netted another four to take his tally to eight in two games.

Despite late consolations by Colchester it was a very professional performance against what could have been a potential banana skin for Pelicans.

They entertain top of the league and old rivals Spalding tomorrow looking to keep hopes of promotion alive.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Wisconsin distributor who sold illegal video slot machines to businesses across Ohio pleaded guilty Thursday to gambling-related charges and agreed to turn over $35,000 in forfeited funds.

Erin Nelson, 34, the president of 8 Line Supply, and her company entered the pleas to eight charges -- including attempted money laundering, possessing criminal tools and gambling -- before Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John Sutula.

Nelson could face probation when Sutula sentences her and the business on March 12. He also could sentence her to up to three years in prison. The company could be fined.

"What's crucial about this conviction is that it establishes a precedent and proof that all of these games are per se slot machines and can't be disguised as skill games or any other device legal to operate anywhere in Ohio,'' said Greg Croft, the agent in charge of the Ohio Investigative Unit, in a statement after the plea.

Prosecutors said the company sold 23,000 video slot machines, parts and components to bars, restaurants and other businesses throughout Ohio starting in 2008. Prosecutors put the cost at $2.7 million.

The company is from De Pere, Wis., a suburb of Green Bay. Authorities said it provided a variety of machines, including Dorothy's Fantasy, Captain Jack, Fruit Bonus 1996, as well as WOZ and Ghouls Night Out.

Other games listed in the charges include Black Beard, Penguin Party, Dorothy's Fantasy and Crazy Bugs.

Carl Sullivan and Christopher Schroeder, assistant county prosecutors, said the charges are part of a large-scale investigation that culminated in the raids of several companies and homes last April.

8 Line Supply's customers included convicted gamblers Martin Sarcyk and Kurt Immler, the prosecutors said. The machines were later placed in bars and restaurants across Northeast Ohio. The bars and restaurants made cash payments to patrons who won.

"(8 Line Supply and Nelson) have admitted they are in the gambling business,'' said county Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty. "Any absurd claims that these are games of skill have been destroyed by their guilty plea.''

In January, Common Pleas Judge Deena Calabrese sentenced Sarcyk, of North Royalton, to 18 months in prison after he had pleaded guilty to gambling-related charges. Authorities seized $1.1 million from his home and business.

In December, Common Pleas Judge Michael Russo placed Immler, of Dalton in Wayne County, on probation for a year after he pleaded guilty to gambling charges. Officials seized $597,000 from him, much of it found in his bedroom nightstand.

Prosecutors said investigators in Ohio gained the help of authorities in Wisconsin in June. That's when law enforcement officials there, with a search warrant, seized a hard drive, a notebook labeled "Shipping Log'' and several boxes of records from 8 Line Supply.

Authorities also seized a list of customers in Ohio. Prosecutors said the investigation into video gambling here continues.

Besides Immler and Sarcyk, eight bars have pleaded guilty to gambling charges stemming from the investigation.

Prosecutors said the bars include: B&G Old World Tavern in Euclid; the Blue Parrot in Euclid; Browns Tavern in Newburgh Heights; Flyers Bar and Grill in Parma Heights; Highlander Tavern in Cleveland; Pearl Road Tavern in Cleveland; 2nd Chance Lounge in Cleveland; and Uncle Joe's Bar and Grill in Parma Heights.

Five establishments in Medina, Ashtabula and Wayne counties also were convicted.

Slot revenues for January were down at Foxwoods Resort Casino but up slightly at Mohegan Sun.

Since the game first came to market in 1963 Mouse Trap has been an extremely popular children’s pastime. Players need to overtake a mouse and navigate around the game board until they have trapped all the other players.

Now WMS Gaming has obtained the rights to develop a land based slot game built upon the popular board game. It is a hybrid slot mixing a 3 reel slot with a second video screen that features a game board. The symbols are a mixture between classic symbols and the game’s symbol and a wild mouse that takes up an entire reel.

It is a 9 payline slot that offers players a free spins feature, a bonus game based upon the board game and the chance to win four different progressive jackpots: the minor, major, grand and cheddar progressives.

Since International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) first approached Aer Lingus last month with a take over offer, there has been a lot of debate about the likely impact of a deal on the Irish carrier’s “Heathrow slots”.
The phrase refers to the rights that airlines have to land and take off from the airport.

Aer Lingus has 24 slot at Heathrow, all of them paired with matching rights at Irish airports, and the general consensus is that they are worth a total of around €400 million.
When the airline floated in 2006, the Government kept a 25.1 per cent stake in the company partly to give itself a veto should the airline ever want to sell any of its rights at Heathrow.
These are seen in some quarters as being critical to the Republic’s air links with key markets for exports, tourism and inward investment.
The high price-tag attached to the Heathrow particular rights is simply down to the fact that supply is limited.
Heathrow is operating at close to full capacity and is unlikely to be able to expand for at least the next decade.
Also, airports grant these rights on a “use it or lose it” basis, if an airline does not use the slots to fly passengers to an from an aiport, it loses them.
As a result, landing/take-off rights at Heathrow only become available occasionally.
The last time a substantial number became vacant at the hub was in 2012 when British Midland was wound up.
IAG bought the business and acquired its slots, some of which are now used for British Airways flights from Dublin to Heathrow.
There is no formal market for trading slots in any airport, so it is not possible to put a firm value on such rights, but they are traded or swapped from time to time. If an airline were to sell all its slots, it would have no landing rights at heathrow, and if it were to sell a few of them, then the amaunt of times it could land at Heathrow would be reduced accordingly.
The basic rules is that the busier the airport, the more valuable its slots.
