Celebrating 10 years of responsible Internet gambling in Atlantic Canada

MONCTON, New Brunswick -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Atlantic Lottery is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of offering responsible Internet gambling, and wants to give back to its players to honour the occasion.

To celebrate the anniversary, Atlantic Lottery is thanking players for their support with a chance to win prizes from Aug. 22 to Sept. 30, 2014:

Every $2 purchase on alc.ca will be entered into Atlantic Lottery's popular 2Chance draw that offers a grand prize of $250,000.

Any WebCash – vouchers purchased from Atlantic Lottery retailers to fund a player's alc.ca account – of $10 or greater purchased and deposited during the promotion period will be entered into a draw for $1,000 in WebCash. The retail location that sold the winning WebCash voucher will receive a $1,000 prize as well.

"When we launched our Internet gambling site in August 2004, we were the first lottery in North America to sell products online," said James Reilly, Atlantic Lottery's Senior Manager, eCommerce. "For 10 years now, Atlantic Canadians have been enjoying a range of entertaining products with us, online. Today's alc.ca offers players big jackpot lottery games LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX, their favourite regional draw and PRO•LINE games, and online-only offerings iBingo and Pick'n Click. We offer our players the convenience of playing at home at the only legal, regulated Internet gambling site in Atlantic Canada today."

On Atlantic Lottery's anniversary plans, Reilly remarks, "We're excited about giving our alc.ca players a second chance to win and including our retailers in the anniversary. We believe both groups will respond to, and enjoy, the celebration."

Since its early days as PlaySphere.ca, to the current transactional site alc.ca, Atlantic Lottery has prided itself on having one of the most responsible Internet gambling sites in North America with a comprehensive suite of responsible gambling tools to help players make informed choices. As with all of Atlantic Lottery's profits, all profit generated by alc.ca goes back to the four Atlantic Canadian provinces.
